Pre-Inspection Checklist
Inspectors are prohibited from repairing or replacing missing or broken items. We can only inspect what we can readily see and access. In order to receive the most efficient inspection and prevent call back charges, please review the following pre-inspection items.
- Confirm gas, water and electricty are turned on and all pilot lights are burning.
- Ensure pets or other animals are cared for during the inspection. Inspector can not be responsible for pets.
- Replace any burned out or missing light bulbs.
- Test all smoke detectors and replace batteries as needed.
- Clean or replace dirty A/C filters, verify proper fit and they are secure. Differential air temp readings will impacted by dirty filters.
- Move any items stored or stacked against the foundation.
- Remove/unlock any locks on gates, service panels, Special closets, and storage areas.
- Confirm that areas to be inspected are free from being blocked by furniture, clothes, vehicles, or any items that will restrict access by inspector.
- Areas of special interest are outlet plugs, service boxes, panels, kitchen appliances, attic access, crawl space access.
- Trim any vegetation away from A/C compressor.
